The second short film from writer/director duo Dylan & Dakota PF, Downstream: In an ambiguous operation a desperate person’s consciousness is transferred into a foreign body. During the process her memory is erased. She struggles to figure out who she really is in an alien environment.

The Process

Downstream started preproduction in late 2015, with Patrick coming onboard very early on. Patrick and the PF brothers were able to use the time in preproduction in extensively work out the visual themes, looks, and mood for the film. The weeks leading up to production involved location scouts in upstate New York, and drafting countless shot lists to get the plan just right. Production was a quick three shooting days on location with five or more pages shooting per day. The extensive prep in preproduction allowed Patrick and his team to work quickly to change setups and stay a step ahead so as not to delay the shoot. After shooting wrapped Dylan and Dakota went straight into editing and brought Patrick back in when they started working with colorist Sam Wood. The film was completed in the late summer of 2016 with hopes to bring it to various festivals around the world.
